Hillman Energy Center

The Hillman Energy Center is a proposed 125 megawatt energy storage project that will interconnect to an existing substation. At peak output, this project will discharge the electricity necessary to power nearly 125,000 homes for a 4 hour period.

The project will be located on Hillman Street on approximately 4.3 acres of previously developed industrial land.

Local Benefits

The project is expected to generate over one million dollars annually in local property taxes, diversifying the town’s tax base and providing meaningful local benefits. On top of local taxes, we look forward partnering with the town on a community benefits agreement to further demonstrate our commitment to being a quality long-term community member. Lastly, the project is expected to bring dependable union jobs during construction.

Safety

This project will adhere to all relevant codes and standards for battery energy storage systems consistent with industry standards. We will coordinate closely with local officials and groups, including but not limited to, Tewksbury Fire Department, Conservation Committee, and the Health Department.

The American Clean Power Association (ACP) created this resource to highlight the industry’s commitment to rigorous safety standards and partnerships with the fire service that guide planning, developing, and operating each energy storage project.
